PERSONNEL SELECTION
A growing number of recruitment experts are becoming aware of the potential
benefits of incorporating graphology into staff selection procedures, often as
an adjunct to psychometric testing.
Here are some of the advantages:
• Advance insight about each applicant is brought to the interviewer.
• Elimination of the problem of premeditated responses. Any attempts at
deception are detectable. (Deliberate changes in handwriting can only be made at
the expense of speed, fluency and other features discernible by the
graphologist.)

FORENSIC WORK
In the legal field graphology is often used to determine authenticity; for
example of a signature or a document such as a will or manuscript but without
concern for the writer's personality. The questioned samples are studied very
thoroughly under magnification.
COMPATIBILITY
By comparing two people's handwriting I can tell whether they are likely to
be compatible in a close relationship, whether this happens to be a living,
loving or working one. Sometimes differing attitudes, habits and approaches to
life do not show up for weeks or months. By the time familiarity allows basic
traits to become apparent they might be well down the road of commitment. My

are - or who we are dealing with in any close relationship - is of course always
vital but never more so than at times which feel like cross-roads; or periods of
